Food Craft Institute Jammu has been established jointly by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Government of Jammu and Kashmir with an objective to provide quality education in the key operational areas of hotels & hospitality industry and to empower the students to succeed in today's dynamic world by integrating technical knowledge, professional skills and career focused education.
This is with a view to building a strong skill based labour infrastructure for the Hotel and Tourism sector in the country, and for wiping out unemployment.
The Institute comes under the administrative control of Department of Skill Development UT of Jammu and kashmir.
The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Noida -an apex body under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. The Institute provides education for interested Aspirants willing to Join Hospitality & Hotel Industry. The Institute at present offers various trade Diplomas of Hotel Management of 1& ½ year Duration in Food Production, Bakery And Confectionery, Front Office operations, Food and Beverage Services and Housekeeping & short duration courses under CBSPHunar-Se-Rozgar programme sponsored by Government of India, Ministry of Tourism.
Future Plan
Proposal for upgradation of Food Craft Institute Jammu to State Institute of Hotel Management Jammu has been forwarded to Ministry of Tourism Govt. of India. Once approved, we shall be able to conduct three year degree courses in hotel management B.Sc (H&HA) under National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) Ministry of Tourism Govt of India. |
